SAUDI ARTIST & RESEARCHER IN VISUAL ARTS
A Saudi artist, researcher, and academic, interested in contemporary arts, holds a Ph.D. in Art and Design Philosophy from the United Kingdom. Interested in printmaking and research on the philosophy of absence in linking printing with the sacred art of the Holy Kiswa and the Kaaba in contemporary artworks. This encouraged me to research the history and the representations of the Kaaba and the Kiswa and the philosophy of art along with the history of limited technical printing in Saudi Arabia. My print works translate the relationship between the word/text (present) with the image (absent). Working as an artist interested in contemporary art has allowed me to participate in several local and international exhibitions and to hold 3 solo exhibitions from 2003 to date…
